Hi! My name is Jaclyn Cleveringa and I'm the daughter of Dan Cleveringa (aka "heavyfoot"), who was an E Troop, 41" height="60" alt="1" title="1" align="bottom" />7th cav, 41" height="60" alt="1" title="1" align="bottom" />73rd Airborne Brigade in Vietnam in 41" height="60" alt="1" title="1" align="bottom" />970. I'm trying to find anyone who knows him! My email address is jaclyncleveringa@yahoo.com or you can send me a message on FB.
I've found a few of his buddies but I'd like to find more! Specifically, some are "Biggie Rat" (no one knows his real name) from Virgina Beach and was the Track Leader, Wallie "Dwarf" Dwally from Gretna, Louisiana, Dave "Rich Runner" Simmons from West Virgina, Gary Traylor from Detorit, Joe Phinillie (don't know where he was from) and Dan Ratclif from Virgina.
If anyone knows how to get ahold of them, PLEASE let me know! Also anyone else out there who knows my Father would be great too!

Retire CMS William E. (Bill) Workman is going in for knee replacement this afternoon in Oklahoma City. Bill needs our prayers. The operation is very risky due to his kidney problems.

Why do I cry for those in harms way.

Why do I cry for those in harms way
who live out their lives to protect me each day.
I sit in my safety knowing all's well
while many of our soldiers are wading through hell.

They gave up their freedoms to protect all of mine
and I sleep well each night ‘cause they’re on the front lines.
They wake every morning hungry tired and sore
knowing each day will only bring more.

Yet through all our strife and our daily routines
so many of us here forget what that means.
When you wake in the morning, and through out the day
be sure to thank a soldier for your freedom today.

I challenge you all to defend what you love
be thankful for our soldiers and thank God above!
You have your spouse or your children with you
but remember these soldiers miss their family too.

They gave up their families to protect you and me
and stand proud of their sacrifice for all folks to see.
The gift of that kind is not measured in gold
for no gold or jewel can repay something so bold.

I say thank a soldier for what they all do
and express every day what freedom means to you.
To the families and friends who have loved ones there
be thankful as well and ask God for his #@*%!e.

So why do I cry for those in harms way?
I'm the father of a soldier and I do it each day.
I'm crying as I write this but not ‘cause I'm sad
but because of the pride of being MY soldiers Dad.
